Sheridan House Project

Sheridan House Family Ministries is an organization that I have respected for a long time, it is reconized
for the over 90,000 children and families it helps yearly, so I considered it an honor to become their fulltime
web developer.
I can honestly say that Sheridan House is my master piece, both in web design and application architecture.
However, I must give credit for the design to TemplateWorld
for providing me a with a template that I was able to customize (which saved me a lot of time). In the
customization if the design I rewrote the CSS and changed around the layout. I incorporated a JavaScript
drop down menu (provided by http://www.dynamicdrive.com/)
for the main navigation in the header of the website and utilized the left area of the website to advertize
resources provided by Sheridan House.
Visitors and purchase resources through a customer built e-commerce section,
even make donations securely, subscribe to a weekly podcast, and monthly article
feeds.
The website is fully dynamic in every area, the home page
implements a customer content rotator control located in the main content
section, and dynamically loaded custom user controls on the left navigation. The administration section allows individuals (staff members) the
freedom to manage such content as donor information and donations, articles
(including rss feeds), daily devotions, website content and audio media content.
The media library is synced with ITunes, allowing an individual to upload new
media content and have it automatically update the podcast feed to ITunes.
Most importantly, this website/application was designed with SEO in mind.
The HTML code is 100% hand written to insure search engine friendly HTML. I also
implemented a custom HTTP handler for handling URL rewritting and 301 redirects.
